We See You
The greatest gifts of my experience in working with the senior living and long-term care field is getting to meet the amazing caregivers and service providers who work with residents. Those who stay in these very difficult jobs are motivated by a deep and beautiful commitment to the people they serve. Both Bill and I are each grateful to have been part of the development of many leaders in the field. When you combine the spirit of team members with servant leaders who feel called to make a difference in the lives of older adults, the impact on our world is transformational.
So many of these wonderful people are facing tremendous challenges right now, and Greenstone Mosaic wants you to know we see you and are holding you in our heart. With the COVID-19 outbreak, senior living and long-term care communities are particularly vulnerable. Throughout the country, daily reports of new communities come one after the other. Behind every report are countless people—team members and residents, their families and friends—struggling to make it through this unprecedented time.
As leaders in this field, we have tremendous responsibility to plan for, and respond to, this crisis. Communities everywhere are rising to the challenge, coordinating complex logistics, developing policies, creating and executing transparent communication plans for team members, residents, families, and the public at large.
Meeting the current crisis takes tremendous strength and courage from all involved. It also calls for us to be uniquely present to the deep fear, sadness, and loss of control felt by those touched by this crisis. Showing up with an open heart when we experience these emotions in others—and in ourselves—doesn’t detract from our strength and courage. It informs and nourishes those qualities.
Blessings to all of you bringing your head, heart, and soul to this difficult moment.
